"Nah, just... they're never sure what to make of it," he says. The first few weeks, he'd really tried to talk about it, tried to see which cops had a similar story and which thought they'd been in Darrow all along, but it hadn't been well received. He's not an outsider, exactly, but he's not one of them and even though they trust him, defer to his judgment in a lot of ways, they're not friends. He's not going to find someone else like David in Darrow.

"It's like they know something, but they're not sure what they know," he explains. "Does that make sense?"
