"Unless she's deliberately avoiding me for something I've done... she's probably gone," Chase replies with a slight nod, catching the surprise in Russell's expression and trying to think of ways to be more careful about approaching the topic. It's probably a good thing that Russell knows now, but Chase doesn't want to assume that most people can handle disappearances with as much ease as he can. And probably even more than that, he doesn't want for people to think that he's somehow unfeeling for being this calm.

"I did stop by her place," he nods, tone quiet. "The first time, no one came to the door. The second time, another person greeted me, a Darrow native, and I couldn't ask about when she had moved in without arousing a lot of suspicion."
