"She's gone?" Russell asks, startled. For a second, he's not even able to concentrate on Chase's question, running through his mind to find the last time he and Natalia spoke, if she said anything about going away, anything at all that might indicate this isn't a permanent disappearance. Because Russell knows how it works. He hasn't experienced it himself, but he's been told and he has no reason not to trust what he's been told.
