"Then Italian it is," Chase says, simply of a mind to direct them to the closer place, not having enough of a preference to bother with the extra time it'd take to walk a couple more blocks. He appreciates spending time with someone who seems to be less picky than he is with venues, people who won't do their best to tear down the very foundation of a place as House does. Over the course of a decade, House had managed to worm that mentality into a lot of the people who worked for him.

Chase hopes that he doesn't have to be one of them.

"Especially since I'm covering dinner. And drinks. And I'm genuinely not doing that to brag in any way, it's just... I used to budget a great deal for traveling, and now that option's suddenly gone. I kind of miss the sensation of flying in a plane."
