"You haven't been awful," Molly says, almost teasing, though the smile she directs up at him is nothing but warm and genuine. Absent, maybe, but there are worse things in the world to be than that, and in a way, she's used to it. Not like people who have others leave them at every turn, or who wind up with loved ones so distant that it takes a great toll on their lives, but it's just a fact of things, the way life often goes. Besides, it could be worse. It's not exactly like she was trying to get anything from him and having him not show up when he said he would.
